2 days - 1 weekend - 100s of years of life - please join us for a ramble through history About 200 history re enactors from around Europe will gather to celebrate several stories from various periods of the past. There are several groups, whose names I shall publish as soon as we have the programme ready. The FREE car park will open at 10am. It is a good walk to the arena. The first reenactment activities will start at 11 and on the hour throughout the day. The official launch of the Festival will be at 1pm, which will be a parade of the re enactors. The Bushmills Community Association will be organising several entertainment sesisons put on by local dancers, singers etc. The Community Association will also be running a refreshments tent. There are stalls (a list will be published early June) and catering on site (a list will be published early June - so far: Flash Hog Roast, Bacon Butties, Slushtails, Ice cream, crepes and a chip van. We have a bar license for between 12 and 4 - this is retsricted entry for 18+, and no alcohol can be taken out of the enclosed area on site (those are the conditions of the license). Orienteering NI will be showing how to get started in orienteering. There will be a chance to give archery a go. There will be bouncy castles and the assualt course will be out. A local scout pack will be looking after our litter, St. John's will be looking after any slips or trips, and our Walled Garden Volunteer Team are gong to run a plant stall, where we hope you will bring your excess plants and exchange or buy other plants. We will be looking for feedback about the festival this year on how to improve it, and we will be explaining all about the up coming project that we are running on site at the moment. The Savage Dig is an exciting project for which we need lots of support and volunteers, so if you have any wish to be involved in any of the activities, or have any ideas that we can use during the next round of the application, then please let us know. There will be a visitors book on site where comments can be left, and we are on facebook.
